The writing piece I chose is called Heavy Metal Board Games by Andrea Bellemare. I chose this writing piece because all of the bands that they made a funny twist to, I know of (such as Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, and things of that sort). I found it hilarious because of the way they cleverly changed the names of each band title and compared the bands I knew to familiar board games. Some of my favorites were: Whitesnakes and Ladders, Motley Clue and Twister Sister. These were my favorite ones because of the three bands they used, Whitesnake, Motley Crue and Twisted Sister, since those are the bands, out of all, that I knew the most about. Their creativity really captured my attention and made me crack up laughing!
The authors style was truly unique in many ways. All of the great thoughtproccess they put into it really showed through well in the outcome. With their comparisson between familiar bands and familiar board games, it drew people in no matter what they liked! I found that the author's style was creative and extremely innovative in the way she worded everything and put it all together. They were good at portraying what they wanted to and make the right impression they wished of on the readers. She is great at portraying humor and class into her writing, by comparing two totally different things from two opposite sides of the spectrum. I thoroughly enjoyed this writing piece (or list, if you may) more and more as I read!
This list is recommended for people who like a good laugh and a well portrayed, unique and clever meaning!
